Position Summary

United Way of Central Indiana recognizes that the key to success is a strong and cohesive team that works through shared values to achieve our mission. The Graphic Designer/ Creative Manager is responsible for the conceptualization, design and implementation of all visual media communication solutions that meet marketing strategies from concept to completion. This artistic position plays a leading role in visually communicating the community impact work of United Way, helps to raise money in traditional and online environments, and controls the organization's brand consistency and its accurate representation in all internal and external facing collateral.


Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and revise graphic materials in a fast-paced demanding environment.
  • Collaborate with team to devise creative concepts and solutions for print and digital mediums
  • Coordinate operations for print marketing materials, including but not limited to: gathering, logging; and review/routing internal project requests, archive project drafts, and maintain records for future reference.
  • Coordinate multiple marketing projects within required time constraints while staying committed to strategy and budget guidelines
  • Manage and cultivate the career development of graphic design intern(s)
  • Take photos and video at key United Way community events
  • Organizing/maintaining all graphic files and photographs on Mac OS
  • Ensure all visual communication and brand standards are met and consistent
  • Initiate lead developing projects for select departmental marketing needs
  • Coordinate projects between internal client and print vendors while reviewing/organizing their bids
  • Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis.

Education and/or Experience

At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required. Passion for creative visual storytelling required. Photography skills and mastery of Adobe creative suite required (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects). Proven experience working collaboratively in a complex organization required. Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, marketing or related field is preferred. Knowledge of the nonprofit sector is a plus.
