Coordinator, Tax Help Colorado

Position Title: Coordinator, Tax Help Colorado
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: An amount in the beginning of the pay range, $20.20 - $22.00 hourly, with consideration given for experience above the minimum requirements.

How You'll Help:
Assist Tax Help Colorado staff in implementing the Tax Help Colorado program and effectively operating the tax sites. The coordinator will oversee planning of Tax Help Colorado projects, coordinate various drop off, DIY and traditional tax sites, and manage Tax Help Colorado's social media and web pages.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the Tax Help Colorado program and effectively operating VITA sites:

    • Manage organizational tools and resources used by Tax Help Colorado staff, including reports used to help determine goals and projections for future years.
    • Serve as primary contact with the IRS to order materials and file necessary paperwork.
    • Works with outside vendors to create and order THC promotional materials.

    Coordinate and oversee planning of Tax Help Colorado projects

    • Coordinate logistics of internal and external meetings and trainings
    • Plan and execute external events such as Taxathon.
    • Monitor Tax Help Colorado budget and track expenditures.
    • Schedule and organize meetings and maintain agenda.
    • Facilitates internal debriefs to record project performance and suggested improvements.

    Manage various drop off, DIY and traditional tax sites.

    • Act as site coordinator at various tax sites.
    • Serve as site consultant for new tax sites, instructors, and site coordinators.
    • Direct program liaison to various community partners.

    Manage Tax Help Colorado's social media and web pages.

    • Facilitates THC team meetings to brainstorm new and innovative digital media growth strategies.
    • Works with Program Director to establish and manage and budgets.
    • Create written and visual content for THC blog, website, and social media channels.
    • Conducts interviews with taxpayers and volunteers for future marketing and funding purposes.
    • Monitor, collect and report on marketing campaigns and social media performance.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key Tax Help Colorado stakeholders including education and nonprofit partners to support their VITA site needs.
  • Present at public speaking engagements in the community related to various topics on Tax Help Colorado.
  • Develop shared vision and continued growth for Tax Help Colorado at Mile High United Way.
  • Optimize our technological tools such as Salesforce, Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud, Salesloft, Volunteer United and our website to develop and implement an outcome measurement process for evaluating the progress and effectiveness of Tax Help Colorado projects and strategy.
  • Ensure high touch communication with Tax Help Colorado and Mile High United Way partners, volunteers and students, and low-income families.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-year direct experience working with volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and training volunteers.
  • Previous experience with tax preparation preferred.

Special Skills/Knowledge:

  • Represent Mile High United Way at agency site visits and at agency functions to enhance agency relations.
  • Great organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Substantial event planning experience.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to work effectively with MHUW donors, volunteers, agencies, and community representatives.
  • Good oral communication and writing skills, including presentations, public speaking, written reports, and other documents.
  • Knowledge of workplace campaigns.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce, tax software and volunteer tracking platforms preferred

Working Environment: 30% of time in typical office environment, 70% of time traveling to local offsite meetings; depending on the time of year

Physical Activities:

May be required to lift up to 20lbs. Ability to provide personal transportation.
