As a member of the United Way Southwest Virginia team, the Community Relations Assistant contributes to the strategic goals and priorities for the organization’s year-round resource development efforts by assisting in the building and sustaining of resources. The Community Relations Assistant provides administrative support to the department, which includes the Manager of Community Relations, Community Relations Coordinator, and the Senior Director of Development and Outreach. The Community Relations Assistant reports to the Manager of Community Relations and must be able to manage a regular schedule of time-sensitive tasks along with multiple requests for assistance in a professional and organized manner. The Community Relations Assistant provides excellent customer service in person and via telephone acting as the first impression of the organization.
The Community Relations Assistant provides data entry, data reporting, analyzing data, identifying inaccuracies and technical problems. Daily activities including administrative responsibilities, development, and oversight of the direct mail campaign, CRM database maintenance, donor recognition, events planning. Serves as a liaison with Community Relations, Finance, and CRM database software vendor.
