The United Way of Greater Kingsport seeks versatile Community Impact Manager to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.  This person will serve as the lead staff position in overseeing UWGK agency relations, allocations and volunteer activities. POSITION SUMMARY

This position offers an opportunity to be involved in engaging the Greater Kingsport, TN community to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.  Serves as the key staff support position for United Way of Greater Kingsport’s (UWGK) community impact efforts with member agencies and other organizations.

Serves as staff position in coordinating the all-important community impact work of the Community Investment Committee and Internal Initiatives overseeing agency relations, agency allocations, volunteer activities including Week of Caring.  This position would also implement and oversee internal initiatives including, but not limited to, Volunteer Tax Assistance Program (VITA), Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), Volunteer United and short-term grants programs.   Will assist in other related community impact initiatives and activities as needed to support the organization and community.

KEY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with preference of focus in social services, non-profit management or related degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in working with staff and volunteers
  • Preferred 3 years experience in related field  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of time management skills, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance
