Scope of Position

The Community Impact Manager will support and manage UWLC’s grantmaking processes and research best practices that support equitable and relationship-oriented data infrastructure. The Community Impact Manager will engage with community partners to foster a culture of trust-based philanthropy and learn from community to create more equitable systems and policies, build more effective and efficient social sector, and foster a more connected community. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Grants Administration: Manage grantmaking processes, including contract management, budget and report monitoring, internal tracking, and other technical assistance.
  2. Data and Evaluation: Support data collection processes that promote participatory evaluation and data sharing infrastructure. 
  3. Learning Culture: Research and implement emerging best practices to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness of community impact initiatives.
  4. Communication and Facilitation: Facilitate community grantmaking processes and serve as the primary point of contact for community partners.
  5. Community Partnerships and Trust Building: Engage with community members and partners to build trust and foster trust-based relationships that inform community impact processes and promote power shifting.
  6. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to advance community impact efforts.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience: Demonstrated experience in community-based grant making facilitation and administration. Community engagement and/or relationship building experience is highly desired. This role must also demonstrate experience in, or a strong passion, for systems change work.
  2. Commitment to Mission: Genuine passion for the non-profit sector and alignment with the organization's mission and values and committed to equity.
  3. Knowledge: Expertise with full cycle of grantmaking and administrative processes.
  4. Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals and organizations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  5. Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Supervisory experience is a plus.
  6. Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using grantmaking software applications and survey tools are desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint is expected (proficient in Excel).
