Title: Communities that Care (CTC) Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Community Resources  

Summary: This position is a highly visible leadership position in the Weber School District schools that make up the Weber High School cone. The coordinator provides daily oversight for planning, organizing, and building community support for the Weber Communities That Care (CTC) coalition which promotes and develops the concept of prevention science in the Weber cone area. The position interacts with key community leaders, nonprofit and government agencies, an extensive volunteer base, and other stakeholders to facilitate program goals and objectives. The coordinator collaborates with Weber CTC Community Board members to establish priorities, long-range plans, and other technical aspects of program operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as front-line representative for the Weber CTC coalition and build cooperative relationships with community leaders, agencies, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Travel throughout the designated Weber cone area is a requirement of the job. This duty may include:

    • Meeting with local officials, school district leaders, and others to promote community-wide buy-in for the CTC program or strategies

    • Coordinating public and other group presentations

    • Facilitating the preparation and release of survey information to the community

    • Coordinating IT set up for meetings

  • Recruiting, orienting and working with volunteer coalition members

    • Overseeing community volunteer coordination and communications

  • Developing cooperative relationships between Key Leaderboard (KLB) members and ensures continual focus on program goals in the Coalition’s action plan

  • Working with supervisor to develop short and long-term goals for Weber CTC program. Ensuring that the goals of the Coalition’s action plan are achieved.

    • Writing (and updating) annual CTC Community Action Plan that includes Coalition’s action plan goals (in collaboration with community board).

    • Organizing, carrying out, evaluating and making necessary changes to programs in support of the Weber CTC coalition’s goals

    • Coordinating with Human Resources to arrange for trainings and technical assistance to enhance program operations.

  • Performing various duties necessary to oversee the management of Weber CTC programs and strategies to ensure Coalition’s action plan and budget requirements are met.

    • Providing basic financial reports applicable to the Coalition action plan to UWNU fiscal team

    • Overseeing  Weber CTC budget and management of all funding sources.  Facilitating the Weber CTC Funding Workgroup in obtaining necessary funding through various sources such as fundraising, grants, city support, or other community support

    • Facilitating Coalition program marketing to ensure high levels of participation

    • Ensuring policies and procedures relating to programs are implemented and followed

    • Facilitating the Coalition‘s work to ensure programs are effectively evaluated and collaborate with the community board to identify effective evidence-based programming

    • Providing conflict resolution for resolving issues and problems relating to CTC program; responding to and investigating public complaints

    • Ensuring needed supplies, equipment and materials are available for programs following UWNU supply request procedures

  • Performing administrative tasks for the Coalition. This may include one or more of the following:

    • Work group tasks:

      • Coordinate, schedule, help with logistical arrangements, and follow up on assignments for/from Weber Communities That Care meetings, trainings events, etc.

      • Take minutes, transcribe, and disseminate minutes for all Weber CTC meetings.  Minutes will be distributed no more than 1 week after meeting

      • Maintain Weber CTC Work Groups, Community Board, and Key Leader minutes and other logs

    • Prepare statistical reports, writing and drafting documents and reports, processing data and performing other related tasks. 

    • Collect and tabulate Weber CTC member volunteer hours, track donations and provide monthly updates to Funding Workgroup

  • Attending required trainings and meetings and others as deemed necessary.

  • As needed, assist other Community Support Coordinators in providing services to clients for other needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain community partnerships.

  • Written and verbal communication skills 

  • Able to operate standard office equipment.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Social Work, Public Health, or related field

  • Two year’s work experience in a related field

  • Education may be substituted for experience or a combination of both is applicable

  • State, local and federal guidelines and regulations

  • UWNU HR Policies and Procedures and Employee Handbook

  • UWNU Programmatic Systems as they pertain to this position

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions: 

  • Position requires short-distance travel by car and occasional long-distance travel by car, van, or airplane.  

  • Will work mostly inside.  

  • Must be able to work closely with others and in group settings. 

  • Will be required to work longer or irregular work hours seasonally.

Location: Ogden, UT

Hours: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are subject to change based on events and activities happening. 

Wage: $50,000-58,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
