OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The AmeriCorps PAT Resource Navigator Team Lead contributes to the achievement of United Way of El Paso County’s mission, vision, goals within the education impact area by addressing a key strategy: home visitation, and serve as a main source of resources and referrals for families. The AmeriCorps PAT Resource Navigator Team Lead’s responsibility is to successfully implement the Parents as Teachers program, an evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework that builds strong communities, thriving families and children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Delivers essential programmatic functions of the AmeriCorps PAT program to include:
- Acting as Resource Navigator Team Lead, providing guidance and mentorship to Members of the Resource Navigator team
- Adding to efforts of creating unity, fostering member retention, and offering the opportunity for member development as the Team Lead for Resource Navigators
- Seeking out and participating in recruitment, outreach, and presentation opportunities with current and potential program partners
- Generating materials for outreach and marketing efforts of the PAT program to include social media and website maintenance and engagement initiatives
- Calling the waitlist and enrolling families in the PAT program
- Conducting PAT Parent Satisfaction Surveys
- Facilitating and coordinating (at least 7) group connections and educational opportunities for families
- Serving families in partnership with the Parent Educator Team Lead, to assist with case management, referrals, and providing resources in alignment with set goals
- Assessing overall wellness of assigned families and working in coordination with assigned parent educators to address family needs
- Managing and maintaining an up to date resource directory for use by Resource Navigator team to assist families with accessing community resources
- Providing mentorship and shadowing opportunities for first time and continuing AmeriCorps members, in particular Resource Navigators
- Assist the Program Supervisor with planning and facilitating Member meetings and trainings
- With the AmeriCorps Parent Educator Team Lead, purchase approved activity supplies and educational materials
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
- Must be at least 18 years of age on or before September 1, 2020.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English and in Spanish
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED*
- Associates Degree or 60 college hours preferred in Health, Education or Social Work
- Must be competent in web browsing, emailing, quality and quality data entry, and Microsoft Office Programs
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, insurance and vehicle (documentation is required)
- Must have a minimum of two years’ previous supervised experience working or volunteering with young children and/or families
- Must have served as an AmeriCorps Member and/or worked for a Parents as Teachers program for at least one (1) year prior to application
Must be able to serve a flexible schedule with the possibility of early morning, evening, and weekend to complete a minimum of 1700 hours for the duration of the service year
LIVING ALLOWANCE AND BENEFITS
AmeriCorps Member PAT Resource Navigator Team Lead will receive (upon successful completion of program requirements):
- A living allowance of $15,029.08 distributed bi-monthly throughout program year
- For the amount of the education award the individual may receive upon successful completion of the term of service is included and accurate with the current rate ($6, 195 for FT members)
- A health insurance plan and SNAP eligibility
*Eligible AmeriCorps Members may apply to receive childcare benefits
