Basic Job Summary

The Account Manager will focus on deepening relationships and managing assigned accounts while implementing fundraising and volunteer strategies to increase employee and customer engagement.  Primary job responsibilities also include providing superior customer service to key constituents including donors and company campaign coordinators as well as new business development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Community Outreach
  1. Manage and nurture assigned accounts to develop stronger United Way relationships and workplace fundraising campaign support.
  2. Maintains consistent account contact and creatively explore and introduce additional United Way opportunities as appropriate.
  3. Achieve established financial and participation goals for assigned accounts as well as any new business development goals determined by Director of Finance.
  4. Analyze fundraising potential at assigned accounts to develop a strategic plan for each account that will drive future financial goals.
  5. Track and monitor campaign results compared to projections and follow-up on key activities.
  1. Leadership/Teamwork
  1. Facilitate employee meetings featuring company leadership, United Way messaging, and media/print materials.
  2. Advocate and support special event activities that create a fun campaign environment.
  3. Work with the marketing department to help develop and execute on best practices.
  1. Administrative
  1. Inputting into CRM accurate donor information, all external meetings, follow-up notes, important communications, and all opportunities.
  2. Manage all ECMs for workplace campaigns.
  3. Create campaigns for the year in appropriate systems.
  4. Manage and provide exceptional customer service for campaign receivables.
  5. Create and manage invoices that are needed for campaigns.
  6. Provides weekly reports to CEO/COO about campaign status.
  7. Manage communications for online/paper forms.
  8. Manage supplies/campaign incentives when needed.
  9. Manage thank you and tax letters for WP campaigns.
  10. Manage pledge/payment accuracy for WP Campaigns.
  11. Assists in the updating of accounting policies and procedures.
  12. Provides auditors access to requested information and prepares additional information as requested for annual audit and annual report.
  13. Maintains all supporting documentation in an organized filing system.
  14. Assists in the updating of accounting policies and procedures.
  15. Assists with other projects as requested.
  16. Execute special projects and assignments as needed.
  17. Provide excellent customer service for volunteers, donors, and partners including relationship building with committee volunteers and their administrative teams.
  18. Creates an atmosphere that respects and embraces engagement of all people, ideas and backgrounds and aligns with United Way’s values.
  19. Analyze and track donor engagement.

Job Classification


College Degree Preferred or applicable work experience.


Previous account management experience is preferrable. Managing accounts and providing exceptional customer service. Time management, prioritizing and executing on behalf of accounts  is required.
